Acquiring Talent

Successful companies have a well-thought-out approach to attracting and retaining customers.

These companies understand their unique value proposition, use savvy marketing techniques to attract customers, and have philosophies and strong practices to ensure customers remain satisfied. They've figured out a way to differentiate themselves from competitors, and they're rewarded with new customers, increased sales, and high satisfaction scores. So, it always amazes me when these same companies struggle with attracting and retaining talent.

You see there's really no difference between attracting and retaining customers, and attracting and retaining employees, yet so many companies fail to see this.

They still go through the motions when it comes to competing in the talent market with no message, no value proposition, and no compelling way to answer, “Why come work here?”. And as a result, they struggle with talent, unable to attract and retain top talent, low Glassdoor ratings and reduce profitability.

So, if you want to succeed in today's competitive talent market, put the same amount of effort into attracting the talent you need, that you do into building your customer base, it's the only way to achieve sustainable growth.
